The order candidates appear on the ballot paper was determined by random draw.
Candidate statements have now been published:
LTSA’s Student Councils are responsible for the strategic direction of the LTSA. Student Council representatives receive governance training, ongoing support, guidance and mentorship. Joining a Student Council is a great way to build skills, set the LTSA’s direction, and give back to the community.
The LTSA has more information about Student Councils, including lists of current Student Council members and information about the structure of the organisation.
How to Vote
Voting has closed.
All eligible voters were be sent personalised ballot links on Monday, 23rd September. The election closed at 2pm (Melbourne time) on Monday 30th September. No further votes can be accepted.
How to Nominate
Nominations are now closed.
Nominations ran from Monday 2nd September until 5pm, Monday 16th September.
Because some vacancies remained unfilled, in accordance with the Electoral Regulations, nominations were re-opened from Tuesday 17th September for the Albury-Wodonga, Mildura, and Shepparton Student Councils. This second period ran until 5pm, Friday 20th September 2024.
* Note: Originally Bendigo Student Council was listed as re-opened with one vacancy, however, a subsequent review of nominations received by Monday 16th September showed that there were six eligible nominations, meaning no vacancies remain and nominations should not have been re-opened. We apologise for the error in the notice of re-opened nominations.
Eligibility criteria: in order to nominate as a candidate:
- You must be a member of the LTSA: you can join the LTSA, for free, on the LTSA website by following this link.
- For Campus Student Councils: you must be primarily enrolled at the campus you’re nominating for. (For example, nominees for the Bendigo Student Council must be Bendigo students.)
- For the International Student Council: you must be an international student. Additionally, students eligible for the International Student Council and their Campus Council may nominate for both, but can be elected to only one. You will be required to nominate a preference in case of conflict.
- For students holding dual enrolments: you may only nominate for the campus upon which you are primarily enrolled by course location. If you are unsure of what campus you are primarily enrolled, contact the Returning Officer – we can verify you appear on the roll.
The list of nominations incorporates nominations from both Student Councils from the first nomination period (Monday 2nd September until 5pm, Monday 16th September). Note: This does not reflect nominations for positions that have been re-opened due to remaining vacancies.
